17th Year of Kū Mai Ka Hula

We are thrilled to announce that Ledcor Maui is once again returning as the Ka Wēkiu Sponsor for the 17th annual Kū Mai Ka Hula competition! Taking place on Saturday, September 14, at 1 p.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, this highly anticipated event brings together award-winning hālau from Hawai‘i and the mainland for two days of awe-inspiring performances in both kahiko (traditional) and ‘auana (modern) hula styles.

As Maui’s only adult hula competition, Kū Mai Ka Hula is a celebration of Hawaiian arts and culture, offering an opportunity for hula enthusiasts and newcomers alike to experience the beauty and significance of this ancient art form. Attendees can watch solo and group performances as hālau compete for coveted titles, including Mr. and Ms. Hula Maui, all judged by esteemed kūmu hula from across the islands.

Pre-show entertainment by the Nāpili Kai Foundation will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Yokouchi Pavilion, featuring music, food, beverages, and unique made-in-Hawai‘i crafts.
