How to assist with impacts of wildfires
As many of you have seen on the news or in person, our island of Maui has been severely impacted by the wildfires caused in part by the high winds from passing Hurricane Dora. While official numbers are changing daily, we know the damage is massive given the videos and photos shown on the news and across social media platforms in the last 48 hours. Our hearts are heavy knowing too many families and fellow businesses have lost everything. It is heart-wrenching to see historic Front Street Lahaina and the majestic Upcountry region blackened by the wildfires.
We wait patiently as families find shelter in emergency facilities or at their families and friends homes, and we pray workers are able to perform their duties safely and efficiently. We know they are working under harsh conditions and long hours. We want to thank the many community members who have stepped in to volunteer and assist during these trying times.
In response to how you can help, we have compiled a list of organizations who are providing much needed services. Meanwhile, know that Ledcor Maui is working with our construction partners on ways to lend our support on the ground with our human and business resources.
