Field Work Begins

Following the intensive archaeological reconnaissance-level pedestrian survey archeological subsurface testing has started on four  parcels in Wailea. This work involves a robust testing strategy to understand the overall stratigraphy within the project area. The trenches are mechanically assisted under the supervision of archaeological monitors, recorded and backfilled. The work is expected to continue for approximately 2-3 weeks.
