Clifford Naeʻole will be Grand Marshall of
Nā King Kamehameha Commomorative Pāʻū Parade
Coming up this weekend is Nā King Kamehameha Commemorative Pāʻū Parade and our very own cultural advisor Clifford Naeʻole will be the grand marshall! The Nā King Kamehameha Commemorative Pāʻū Parade and Hoʻolaeuleʻa will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 with a parade along Kaʻahumanu Avenue followed by hoʻolauleʻa at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center. The festivities are part of the celebrations and commemorates in honor of Kamehameha the Great across Hawaiʻi nei throughout the month of June.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is: “E Hoʻomau – Celebrating Mary Kawena Pukui.” Mary Kawena Pukui also known as Mary Abigail Tui Kawena‘ulaokalaniohiʻiakaikapoliopelekawahineʻaihonua Wiggin is renowned historian, Hawaiian language linguist, author and scholar who was an instrumental leader in Hawaiian anthropological research.
“This celebration is about our King and the greatness he gave from himself and to the people; the ability for us to listen, learn and share,” said Clifford Naeʻole. “We are all connected to cheifs, warriors, farmers, medicine men. We need to listen to the past, learn from it and share for the future.”
