Inspiring Tour of
Punalu'u Stream Restoration Area
As part of the HCPO 2025 Conference, members of the Ledcor Maui team had the opportunity to tour Punaluʻu and see the stream restoration area undertaken by Kamehameha Schools.
Between 2021-2023, an impressive 76 acres were excavated creating new estuary and wetland areas.
As part of the mobile tour, the touring group had the opportunity to do some volunteer work at Punaluʻu including fertilizing ulu trees and fishing for invasive species.
Punaluʻu and the restoration work were inspiring to see, and we hope to return in future to see the progression.
