Kokūa for Hawaiʻi:

Flood Relief Support for our Islands

The Kona storms that swept across the islands this March 2026 have caused devasting impacts for many communities and ‘ohana. The flooding began late in the week and intensified rapidly as back‑to‑back Kona lows unleashed torrential rain across multiple islands. Parts of Oʻahu, Molokaʻi and Maui were hit hardest, with some communities reported receiving up to 12 inches of rain in a single night and others experiencing totals as high as 32 inches by Saturday morning.

While the destruction and losses are staggering, the people of Hawaiʻi have again shown the strength, resilience and unity of community. Volunteers quickly stepped in clean-up and flood relief efforts and organizations have quickly mobilized to provide support.

Ways you can support relief efforts – donate, volunteer, share and support:

Maui:

Molokaʻi:

  • ʻĀina Momona – Native Hawaiian organization based on Molokaʻi and providing support throughout the islands

Oʻahu

  • Hawaiian Council–  has launched a donation campaign where funds are doubled up to $200,000

While the road to recovery remains long—damaged homes must be rebuilt, infrastructure restored, and communities supported in healing from the physical and emotional losses, our islands’ capacity for compassion, courage, and collective action has been demonstrated once again.

Mahalo nui to everyone who has stepped in and stepped up in support for our beloved home.
