Ledcor Maui and ʻĀina Momona Raise
Over $83,000 for Hoʻomau 2025
In a powerful demonstration of community solidarity and aloha, Ledcor Maui and ʻĀina Momona, together with local businesses and individual donors, raised over $83,000 to support Hoʻomau 2025. A ceremonial check was presented on Saturday, March 29th, to Nā Leo Pūlama o Maui, the nonprofit organization dedicated to perpetuating Hawaiian language immersion education and the guiding force behind the beloved Hoʻomau festival. Thousands gathered to celebrate and uplift the revitalization of ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi and Native Hawaiian culture.
Hoʻomau is not just a festival—it is a movement that celebrates the endurance of language, the resilience of identity, and the strength of community. The annual event directly supports Pūnana Leo o Maui, a cornerstone of Hawaiian language immersion for keiki on the island.
“We are profoundly humbled by the depth of support from our community and partners,” said Eric Gerlach, Senior Vice President of Ledcor Maui. “This partnership is about more than philanthropy—it’s about standing with the community. When businesses, nonprofits, and individuals unite, we collectively move towards creating a Maui community that sees and cares for everyone.”

“Pūnana Leo o Maui has always believed that language is the foundation of a healthy lāhui,” said Kili Namauʻu, Executive Director of Pūnana Leo o Maui. “To see our broader Maui community come together in such a meaningful way reaffirms the truth that when we lift up ‘Ōlelo Hawaiʻi, we lift up everyone. This is how we build a future rooted in aloha, justice, and strength for our keiki.”

Key contributors included homeowners at Laʻi Loa, Ledcor Maui’s newest residential development in Wailea.
“We are thankful to Ledcor Maui for introducing us to opportunities like Hoʻomau through which we can give back to the community,” said Bruce Hagstrom, a Laʻi Loa homeowner. “Although we are not full-time residents here, we love Maui and we want our condominium association to be known as a generous and supportive group to the greater Maui community.”

Local businesses also stepped up. Pete Sullivan, owner of PB Sullivan Construction and a two-year sponsor of Hoʻomau, shared, “As an employer of local workers, many of them born and raised on Maui, it is important for our company to support locally driven events such as Hoʻomau. Supporting Hawaiian language not only honors the past but helps preserve this rich history for the future.”
Ledcor Maui and ʻĀina Momona have made long-term commitments to community-led initiatives that empower local culture, land stewardship, and education. Their efforts for this year’s fundraiser exceeded the $60,000 raised in 2024, making 2025 their most successful campaign.
Mahalo nui to this year’s major donors and partners: ʻĀina Archaeology, Armstrong Builders LLC, Chun Kerr Legal Services, Dorvin Leis Co. Inc., Hawaiiana Management Company, Honua Consulting, Laʻi Loa Homeowners, Ledcor Maui, Ledcor Group, PB Sullivan Construction Inc., PBR Hawaiʻi & Associates Inc., Polaris Pacific, Title Guarantee Hawaii, and Weinstein A+U Architects.

Hoʻomau is a living expression of aloha. Together, we raise not just funds—but hope, heritage, and the next generation of leaders.
