Celebrating Local Agriculture

Maui AgFest 2026

Each spring, Maui AgFest & 4-H Livestock Fair brings the island together in a vibrant celebration of agriculture, education, and community—and 2026 was no exception. The annual event showcased the deep-rooted connection between the land, local farmers, producers, growers and the future generations who will carry Hawaiʻi’s agricultural legacy forward.

Maui AgFest 2026 welcomed ʻohana, students, and community leaders for a day filled with hands-on experiences, local flavors, and cultural appreciation. From farm equipment displays and agricultural demonstrations to keiki activities and live entertainment, the event offered something for everyone while highlighting the importance of sustainable farming practices in Hawaiʻi.

A central feature of the festival is the 4-H Livestock Fair, where Maui’s youth proudly present their animals—ranging from cattle and goats to poultry—demonstrating months of dedication, responsibility, and care. These young participants embody the future of island agriculture, gaining valuable life skills while helping to preserve Maui’s farming traditions.

Local farmers and vendors also played a vital role, offering fresh produce, island-made goods, and insights into Maui’s evolving agricultural landscape. A culinary delight is Grand Taste where local chefs compete to create winning dishes featuring locally grown and sourced foods.

More than just an event, Maui AgFest serves as a reminder of the essential role agriculture plays in sustaining island communities. It celebrates not only the bounty of the land, but also the people who steward it—honoring a shared commitment to mālama ʻāina and a resilient, locally rooted future.
