The 20th Annual Kū Mai Ka Hula promises to be another unforgettable celebration of hula excellence, bringing together hālau from Hawaiʻi, across the continental United States, and Japan for a weekend dedicated to the art and traditions of hula. Audiences will be treated to inspiring performances by adult soloists and groups competing in both kahiko (traditional) and ʻauana (modern) categories.

From powerful chants and rhythmic drumming to graceful movement and storytelling, Kū Mai Ka Hula showcases the skill, dedication, and cultural knowledge of dancers who have devoted themselves to preserving and perpetuating Hawaiʻi’s most treasured art form. The competition offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty, passion, and spirit of hula while celebrating the connections that unite hula communities around the world.
